Privacy Policy
This notice explains what personal information Creative Canal may collect, why it is used and the choices available to you.
1. Who we are
Creative Canal is a trading name providing podcast editing, video post-production, short-form content and related publishing services. This notice applies when you visit creativecanal.net, contact us or enquire about our services.
For privacy enquiries, contact Creative Canal using the contact options on the website, including WhatsApp.
2. Information we may collect
Information you give us
- Your name, contact details and the content of messages you send.
- Information about your podcast, business, project, budget or requirements.
- Recordings, files or other material you choose to provide when discussing or carrying out a project.
Website and technical information
- Technical request information such as IP address, browser/device information and server logs processed as part of hosting and securing the site.
- Advertising and measurement information from Google Ads and Meta/Facebook Pixel where you have accepted optional cookies, including page URLs, page visits, WhatsApp enquiry clicks, IP address, browser/device information and cookie or advertising identifiers.
- Information generated when you choose to interact with embedded or linked third-party media such as YouTube, Instagram or WhatsApp.
3. How we use information
- Responding to enquiries and providing quotes, including taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
- Providing our services, including communicating about edits, files, publishing and delivery.
- Operating and protecting the website, including security and troubleshooting.
- Measuring advertising performance where you consent to optional Google Ads and Meta/Facebook Pixel measurement.
- Complying with legal obligations where required.
4. Lawful bases
Depending on the situation, personal information may be processed because it is necessary to take steps at your request before a contract, to perform a contract, to comply with a legal obligation, for legitimate interests in operating and protecting the business, or because you have given consent. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
5. Service providers and third parties
We may use third-party services to run the website and communicate with prospective clients, including:
- Netlify for website hosting and delivery.
- Google for Google Ads measurement and privacy-enhanced YouTube video embeds.
- Meta Platforms for Meta/Facebook Pixel advertising measurement after consent, and when you choose to contact us through WhatsApp or visit Instagram content. Meta may match Pixel events to its users to measure and improve advertising. See Meta’s Privacy Policy.
- Professional advisers or authorities where disclosure is reasonably necessary or legally required.
Some providers may process information outside the UK under their own privacy terms and applicable transfer safeguards.
6. Cookies and advertising measurement
Google Ads measurement is set to denied by default using Google Consent Mode and is updated when you make a choice in the cookie banner. Meta/Facebook Pixel is blocked by default: its script is not loaded and no Pixel events are sent until you accept optional cookies. After acceptance it records a PageView and a Contact event when you click a WhatsApp enquiry link. A Contact event records a click, not confirmation that a message was sent; we do not send your WhatsApp message content to the Pixel. You can withdraw consent using Cookie settings and choosing Reject; this stops subsequent Pixel events and removes accessible first-party Pixel cookies. Withdrawal does not undo data already sent. See the Cookie Policy for more information and to change your choice.
7. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Enquiry information may be kept while an opportunity remains relevant. Client records may be retained longer where needed for contractual, accounting, tax, dispute or legal purposes.
8. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, or to object to certain processing. You can also withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis.
If you have a concern, contact Creative Canal first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
9. Third-party links
This website links to or embeds third-party services such as WhatsApp, YouTube and Instagram. When you interact with those services, their own privacy policies and terms apply.
10. Changes
We may update this notice when our website, services or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published here.
